Karen had enjoyed a long career in IT and adult education before the birth of her son. During her first months and years as a mum she became fascinated by child development and early years education and a spell as a volunteer in a local pre-school confirmed her desire to work within the early years sector. In 2005 she embarked on the professional development and training to support her ambitions to enter early years practice with the relevant knowledge. She firmly believes that all who are responsible for the care and education of young children must be appropriately qualified, in order to effectively support the children’s development and encourages every member of the All My Friends team to focus on their own professional development. Karen‘s objective is clear and simple: for All My Friends Childcare settings to provide care and education that parents trust and children enjoy. She aspires for this mission to underpin every aspect of the All My Friends Childcare team’s practice and welcomes feedback (positive or negative!) regarding any aspect of our work.
We constantly review practice at our nurseries in Gloucester to make sure we remain at the forefront of current educational thinking and, no matter how the early years regulatory framework and practices may change over time, we will always make sure our nursery environments are safe, happy and comfortable places for the children in our care to play and learn with their friends.
