Phil is married with two grown-up daughters and four grandchildren and in his spare time can be seen indulging in his life long passion for flying, he has held a pilot's licence for over 20 years. John gained a degree in Business Studies before he trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a five partner Birmingham practice. He then gained valuable post qualification experience with the Birmingham office of a national practice before deciding to specialise in the SME market. This lead to a move to Bakers in 1986 where he was appointed a partner two years later. John has over 30 years experience advising small and medium sized businesses, including professional practices and adopts a hands on approach to his clients. He is also a Fellow of the ICAEW and is a member of their Solicitors Special Interest Group. John is married with four children and is a recent grandfather twice over. He is also a honorary treasurer for his local church and tennis club, where he is also an active playing, though not necessarily winning member.
Phil is the practice's senior and managing director with some 40 years' wide ranging experience in the profession. In addition to a varied portfolio of clients, Phil heads the practice's specialist medical practitioner team and is a member of the Institute's Healthcare Group and Taxation Faculty.
