When John Beaumont founded Beaumonts over 35 years ago, he took a leap of faith! He quit his highly paid, secure job in Leeds with great career prospects and started his practice from scratch in a spare bedroom … The start was not promising. Back then, Chartered Accountants weren’t allowed to advertise and a sudden, deep recession was just around the corner. With a young family to support, it was tough going and stressful for a number of years. Much was to be learned from the “school of hard knocks”! But there was a gap in the market for a practice genuinely focused on helping business owners develop and grow a sustainable business, rather than just keeping score. John’s passionate drive and conviction that small business owners needed far more help and support with their businesses than both small and large accountancy practices provided, resonated with clients – who spread the word.
