Straight driving and course management are essential at Carrickfergus - with its imaginative use of water and sand the par of 68 is not matched that easily - the current course record stands at 64. Local golf architect David Jones has redesigned several holes with strong emphasis given to subtle greens built to USGA standards and liberal use of water features. The clubhouse has been redesigned and redeveloped to a standard which many clubs would aspire to emulate. Carrickfergus Golf Club is a great place to visit and an even better place to come back to.
