Alongside our courses, we organise art exhibitions with local, individual artists and groups of artists. We are proud of our involvement in the community and run seasonal community events, such as Chalkfest in August, where we take over the Market Square in Newbury and enjoy chalking together; a competition of the chalk drawings is judged by a local artist with prizes for the various age groups.
City Arts Newbury runs art courses and exhibitions in Newbury, Berkshire. Our programme of events includes watercolour courses, printmaking courses (silkscreen, collagraph, linocut and drypoint), photography courses, bookbinding, ceramics and pottery, pastel and drawing and painting courses. The art courses are tailored to all ages, some for children, some for adults, and some for all the family to enjoy together. The majority of the courses are one or two days, but there are some that run for five consecutive weeks. The courses are run from our base in Newbury – see our contact page for a location map.
