We are a married couple who met at a rival Opticians in Bolton during our first jobs out of University. I (Wendy) swore I would never go out with an Optician as they were a boring bunch at my Uni, but Lewis is an exception! I qualified from UMIST in 2000 and have worked for pretty much all the multiples in my time. I also worked at Warrington hospital where I specialised in Paediatric optometry alongside the Orthoptic team. I’m the organiser of our team and constantly have to do lists all over the place. Lewis thinks I’m taking it easy now looking after our two children, Matilda and Iris. However working at Craven & Murray is much easier and Lewis still brings the post home for me to open every evening! I qualified from Bradford in 1999 and have worked as a locum for most of my working life (I quickly grew out of the idea of professional paper boy). After meeting and marrying Wendy, she set about kicking me into touch (thankfully, as I needed it) and together we (mostly her), opened Craven & Murray Opticians. Now she’s left me to fend for myself, using the excuse of raising a family. Matilda Alice was born 17th Feb 2008. Though I still report to her every night!
We opened our practice in Norden, Rochdale in June 2007 with the aim of providing high quality eye care together with exceptional service. We are pretty proud of our chic spex boutique providing designer spectacle brands both well known and not so well known! Our shop is open five days a week including late night opening on Monday. We’d love you to come in and see us sometime.
