Danceworks was established in 1993 by Laura Jakes dip London College of Dance. From the start Danceworks has offered students a variety of subjects including Ballet ,Tap,Modern and Jazz. The Aim of Danceworks is for children to have fun but to learn in a disciplined environment. Children can take exams with Royal Academy of Dance in Ballet. Tap and Modern with Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Children also have an exciting opportunity to perform on stage in the bi annual show at a professional theatre. Dance works also offers a summer school every year where students get a whole week of fun and also have the opportunity to work with Karen Kight a mime and drama specialist teacher. Dance works has also seen students go on to pursue careers in dance with students at English National Ballet and London Contempary.
Established by Laura Jakes in May 1993 Danceworks, which is located in Moortown, Leeds, has offered a wide range of classes from the start for both girls and boys, which include Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz. The aim for DanceWorks is enjoyment. Lessons are geared towards exams, but enjoyment is far more important. Our teachers are well qualified and experienced and will provide expert tuition in their dance class.
