DNC started on 1st April 2005, by Nikita Thakrar who at the time was a 20 year old entrepreneur and enthusiast of Indian classical dance. Since its inception, DNC has trained hundreds of students, performed at numerous venues and launched its own purpose built dance studio in Berkshire. Nikita is a passionate performing artist and dance teacher, specialising in classical Indian Kathak dance (Lucknow Gharana). Aside from dance, she is an accomplished speaker and writer who takes a holistic approach towards life. Nikita trained in Yoga from an early age, alongside most of her teenage years studying the disciplined art-form of Kathak in Mumbai. During her time in India, Nikita built up a wealth of knowledge and wisdom. It was during this time she was introduced to meditation and mindfulness, with the Brahma Kumaris. In her spare time, Nikita writes Poetry, reads auto-biographies and enjoys being with nature. She fulfilled her life-long dream and launched the DNC Studio, on 10th September 2011. She recently got married in May 2019, and continues to be an aspiring role model for the younger generation.
