Elmwood School of Dancing

Students who attend Elmwood receive the highest level of training in The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and The Royal Academy of Dance syllabi. Students benefit from a well balanced environment while working towards exams and performances, in addition to practicing free work techniques. We always work hard while having fun and the quality of our students’ progress reflect this. Laura recently took over following the semi-retirement of her mother, Shirley Stone, who ran the school sccessfully for over 45 years. Laura trained under her mother at the school and went on to work internationally as a professional dancer for 10 years. Highlights of her professional career include: The Thursford Christmas Spectacular (where she met her husband, Andrew), dancing aboard P&O’s Oriana and Aurora as they cruised the world and touring the UK with Essance of Ireland Irish dancing tour.

Founded in 1972 by Doug Hayles (father of former Principal, Shirley Stone), we are the longest running and one of the most successful dance schools on the Island. We are proud of our heritage, our commitment to quality and our continued effort to make Elmwood a friendly, safe and fun environment for students of all ages.
