The SEKF was established in 1992 and is affiliated to the English Karate Federation (EKF), British Karate Federation (BKF) & World Karate Federation (WKF). Karate is an ancient martial art which originated in Japan many years ago and is now practised all over the world. As a sport, Karate will be entering the Olympics in Tokyo, 2020 for the first time. In modern times karate will help you in all aspects of life by developing such qualities as Self Discipline, Improved Co-ordination, Good Communication Skills, Personal awarenes & Self Confidence, Good Moral Standards as well as being an effective form of Self defence. At the Southern England Karate Federation our aim is to enhance the student's character by developing a confident and positive attitude through self-discipline, whilst encouraging an awareness for a healthy lifestyle.
