Ian, who having amassed a wealth of knowledge, from being immersed in the antiques trade throughout his childhood, decided early on that jewellery was his real passion. He began his specialist career in Bond Street, at the age of seventeen. After serving his apprenticeship and gaining a solid grounding in London, Ian’s refined eye, commitment and expertise were recognised. And he was lured north, to the Midlands, to help establish a new jewellery business, going on to purchase Howards of Stratford, from the founder Dr Howard, in 1990.
