Credit unions have been serving Harlow for over twenty five years. Harlowsave was established in 2002 as a result of a merger of four small local credit unions to create a stronger, more sustainable organisation to serve Harlow. Harlowsave currently has just over 1,500 members and is run by a team of 8 permanent staff, 8 volunteers and 7 volunteer directors. .
