In March 2013, the company I worked for merged with a partner company and relocated their offices. As I was unable to move, I was reluctantly made redundant, but due to my industry and product knowledge, I was asked by the company to set up as a consultant, thus creating Jaam Design. The name ‘Jaam Design’ comes from my two children — Jay and Amber, taking the first two letters of their names to create JaAm. As Jaam Design, I started working with other play and leisure companies including Public Open Space, Lars Laj UK, Husson UK, Mant Leisure, AMG Sport and Play, Alvian and Ten Construction producing detailed drawings and costings for various projects. I also started getting enquiries from businesses, local authorities, charities and private clients for a number of other design related products. With this in mind, and in order to meet the every increasing needs of my customers, I have been able to source a large variety of products and services, using a large number of suppliers. Due to various projects and design jobs, I have now been able to establish excellent working relationships with many of them.
