In 1993 he formed his own jazz quintet - 'Jazz Not Jazz' who have performed around the country and have made several recordings. In addition, Andy has held the Lead Tenor Saxophone seat in a number of professional Big bands including The State 51 Jazz Orchestra, The Tongue and Groove Big Band, and The Jamie Knight Manuka Band. Andrew is also involved with studio session work and has recorded with many well known musicians including Mike Roberts (King), Anthony Harty (The Style Council) and Horance Panter (The Specials). Andy has also made several TV appearances including performing in the Big Band special on the X Factor in the live studio band.
Andy started his musical life as a chorister at St Andrew's Parish Church, Rugby aged 6. Alongside singing and piano, he initially played the oboe and bassoon at school. Eventually he discovered the saxophone and has never looked back. He has studied with Jean Toussaint at the Birmingham Conservatoire and great saxophonists such as Greg Abate and Ian Hill along the way.
