I’d recommend Aikido to anyone wishing to improve their all round health, balance, confidence, well-being etc. and to meet some amazing people. It’s LIFE, it’s real and it friggin’ works! The ultimate benefit to me is — Whole well-being improvement: Flexibility, proprioception, co-ordination, body confidence, positive proactive environment and the list goes on. Nope! Only my mind takes me out if it’s cold/wet outside, BUT once I show up and train, I always (100%) feel awesome afterwards and grateful I didn’t allow my mind to take me out! The variety of moves, choices in how to surrender and direct anything away from me. It’s like a flow/art, which once you start practicing becomes easier and makes 100% Martial Sense!
At 47 years young I reached a point in my life when I thought, I’d like to reach Black Belt in a martial art before I go! In all honesty I also wanted some ‘me’ time away from the family with another awesome group of people, which would assist me in taking care of my flexibility, coordination, balance as well as general health and fitness levels.
