If a person wants to lose weight, and keep off the weight long-term, the first step should be to look at their current eating- not simply go on a diet where you follow someone else’s rules. Going on a diet doesn’t necessarily get to the heart of the problem. This is why many people re-gain their weight after a weight loss plan, and get caught up in yo-yo dieting. My aim is to educate, inspire and empower clients to transform their eating- and then weight loss can follow naturally. I help clients to become more aware of their own eating patterns and behaviours, and support them in adopting techniques that enable them to make better eating decisions which they can then use long term, without having to cut out favourite foods. Mindless eating is often linked with overeating, and we don’t necessarily enjoy food more when we overeat. For clients who overeat, I help them to adopt more mindful eating strategies that help them to enjoy their food more, whilst learning to eat less.
