Business Info

Play and Learn Childminding

Providing care, play and learning experiences for early years and after school children in a friendly, relaxing family environment. Play and learn childminding is my business and I provide all of the care and learning opportunities for your child. My business however is in my home that I share with my family and this is what makes childminders unique from a nursery setting. It makes me happy when children have settled in and feel as comfortable here, surrounded by friendly familiar faces as they do in their own home. My family have an important role to play in this. Prior to being a childminder I was a nurse. Born and bred in Newcastle I moved away for a while but returned with my husband and our young children. I was without paid employment and found myself helping family members by looking after their children while they were at work and volunteering as a classroom assistant in my children’s school. I came to realise how valuable good child care and early years teaching is and that I had many skills to offer and made the decision to make it my chosen profession. 12 years later I am still passionate about helping to provide children with the best possible start in life.

I aim to work with parents to nurture children’s physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. Always striving to provide an environment in which children are motivated to learn. Creating strong foundations from which children can achieve future success.
