Saymor has been a staple in Gloucestershire and Herefordshire retail for twenty-five years. Currently run by David and Sally Say, Saymor prides itself on great customer service, product knowledge, and experience. David’s parents, Nick and Lynn, started Saymor in 1991, with David serving the company as a driver and sales person. Nick Say took on the role immediately of Managing Director, while Lynn served as Company Secretary. Nick’s previous experience in working for Debenhams for almost a decade and a half, as well as his role as Divisional Managing Director of the Wade Furniture Group, gave him the background and knowledge he needed to form a successful company of his own. The first Saymor Furnishers store opened its doors to the people of Abergavenny in December of 1991, selling beds and mattresses — still a specialism of Saymor today. A year later in 1992, another store was opened in Stroud, and the business continued to expand with the addition of the Ross-on-Wye store five years later in 1997. This new opening also marked Saymor’s expansion into bedroom furniture and upholstery.
