Business Info

St. Michael's Karate Club

We do not operate as a franchise. We are an individual club and operate on a voluntary basis but this does not mean we are not professional in our teaching or outlook. The Independent Martial Art Sports Association was set up by martial artists for the benefit of all martial arts and sports club owners. The purpose of IMASA is to promote all amateur sports and martial arts in the UK community and participation in the same nationally. Andrew is fifty-one years old and has been practising karate for twenty-five years, attaining his black belt after six years training. Before this he trained for five years in boxing. He made the transition from boxing to karate after deciding that at twenty-six years old he was getting too old to continue boxing at any level. His father Ken Collingwood Yondan (4th Dan) encouraged him to take up karate in September 1994, he has continued to train and teach ever since.
