Trowbridge Judo Club has been part of the community since it was founded in 1954, the club moved to its own purpose built Dojo in 1985. The coaches have built links and relationships with other clubs within Wiltshire. This has helped develop the player’s skills and friendly competitiveness during collaborative training sessions and competitions. Alongside these activities the coaches have provided extra skills sessions for the Bradford on Avon Scouts and Trowbridge Rugby Club. We have also assisted local schools in the engagement, development and the assessment of our players through their GCSE Physical Education qualifications and DofE Awards. We have recently reformed the clubs demonstration squad, the squad have previously demonstrated for a wide number of the local primary schools, the Southwick and Hilperton village fetes. Most recently the players demonstrated their skills at the Trowbridge Carnival Fete alongside their club trade stand.

We welcome players from the age of 7, the senior section also caters for players in the process of transitioning from juniors to seniors at the age of 16. The club is inclusive of all abilities, genders, ethnicity and religious belief. As we have a large range of interested and competitive learners the voluntary coaches ensure that beginners, advanced and returning players who may have practised the art as a child gain a find that not only the sport and knowledge of judo is helpful but self-defence, fitness and self discipline is also important.
