Staff at West Wight Nursery provide education and care within the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. Play underpins learning and development and staff provide a balance of child initiated and adult led play based activities to meet each child's developmental needs. "Excellent staff interactions and effective teaching techniques ensure that all children's future learning steps are identified and monitored exceptionally well. This means that children make very good progress" Ofsted 2013. Children gain in skill and understanding through their play, especially when they are able to share their enjoyment with an adult and to talk about their discoveries. Every child's learning journey is documented in a personal file which is given to the parent/ carer when the child leaves us. This provides a lovely record of the child's time with us.
