The Elizabeth Spiers Art Gallery features a constantly changing display of my figurative ceramic sculptures, many of which are based on figures from Greek, Roman and other mythologies. The current work reflects my interest in the blending of human and animal features in both iconic and everyday situations and poses. The one thing they all have in common is presence - each piece is intended to engage with the observer who can easily be drawn into the honesty and humour of the work. Frequent comments are that the figures make you smile and sometimes almost talk to you.
We hope you will enjoy our beautifully presented oil paintings, watercolours and drawings. Carefully selected for their quality, condition and subject matter, they feature a wide choice of landscapes, coastal, marine, portrait, narrative and animal subjects from the 19th Century to the present day.

We love things with a story, a history, be it antique country, primitive, rustic, industrial design or maybe painted furniture from home and abroad. we have a strong emphasis on french and scandinavian pieces because of their great style and alongside these you’ll find decorative antiques, silver, glass, paintings, sculpture, art, posters, studio pottery and old books.

You will find the Creative Gallery in St John’s Hill, near Wareham Quay and St Mary’s Church, just off South Street in the walled Saxon town of Wareham. A historic location, the Gallery is housed in one of the oldest parts of Wareham — St John’s Hill having formerly been an open area behind the church dedicated to St John, now the small car park. The building which houses the Gallery was originally the cart store, next to the stables, for a hotel in South Street.
