Although it is thought to have originally evolved in China, acupuncture has been practiced in many different cultures and countries of the world, including Europe, over hundreds of years and possibly even longer. The first recorded use of acupuncture in Britain was as early as the 17th Century when Jesuit missionaries , and various medical officers employed by the Dutch East Indies Company returned from China and Japan.
It uses well established diagnostic techniques and principles which are very different to those used in the more familiar Western way of looking at health. These techniques and principles are used by the qualified practitioner according to the signs and symptoms that are unique to you as an individual.
