Mike is the owner/company director and despite being 53 years young at the time of writing has 35 years experience in the Surveying profession, having joined Maynards Chartered Surveyors in Sheffield at the ripe old age of 18. Mike was born in Sheffield and educated at King Edward VII School, Sheffield and following ‘A’ levels and a chance visit to the Careers Office in Sheffield he ended up studying for a part-time B.Sc. Degree in Urban Estate Surveying at Trent Polytechnic Nottingham which was a five year degree course but studied one day a week. Mike would urge any new entrants into Surveying to consider this route because as he says, he came out with a degree and five years experience and of course, he did not have to go looking for a job.
