Bellevue House is a Visit Scotland Quality Assured, 3 star and a TripAdvisor 4.5 rated, Scottish Borders Visitor Network Guest House.
The detached Victorian villa is set in a quiet part of the town, only a few minutes walk from the cobbled square in Kelso and a short stroll from the confluence of the rivers Tweed and Teviot. The guests’ accommodation spreads over two floors, dining room on the ground floor with six bedrooms with en suite shower and toilet on the first floor.
The Bellevue, when it was built for Thomas Tod Stoddart in 1840, was a cottage. Stoddart, who was from Edinburgh, had more interest in fishing and writing than working at his profession as an Advocate. Since those early days when Bellevue House was a family home it has been tastefully extended to transform it into an established Guest House with Victorian charm.
