I suppose the one good thing about the forthcoming election is that it should relegate all that season of goodwill nonsense to second place. But the one definite result of the election, Brexit and Christmas, is that fewer people are putting their houses on the market. Quite understandable. Who wants to move in the middle of winter, not knowing what is going to happen with Brexit, and in the middle of our festivities? My one bit of advice is that if you are thinking of moving, now is actually a good time to get it done. Your house will stand out in a smaller market with less to choose from. No garden looks good this time of year, but when marketing just make sure your house is nicely presented, and smelling good. Warm and inviting. And anyone looking for a house at this time of year is likely to be serious.
