The next photograph was taken in 1921 when the tree was still standing. The left hand window on the first floor is now the location of Diane Taylor and Georgina Hodgson’s office, the window on the right is the office of Elaine Hanington. The third photograph, probably taken at Christmas in the 1920′s, shows how prior to refrigeration the sides of beef and game were hung on the front of the building. At the rear of the building (not in photograph) the sheds still exist where the livestock were slaughtered, complete with channels in the floor to carry the blood away! The photograph on the right shows the shop and offices as they are today. BROADLEAF moved to its current offices in BURLEY, located in the beautiful NEW FOREST NATIONAL PARK, during the year of the company’s inception in 1990. We are situated on the 1st floor, above a shop currently known as SHAPPENS STORES. The photograph on the left above was taken in 1880 and our offices are now situated just behind the large tree, just left of centre in the photograph. The tree is no longer there but the building behind the tree still exists and is trading today under the name of THE FOREST TEA ROOMS.
