Since then, Hay Vets has evolved into a modern, independent veterinary practice treating pets, horses and farm animals. Kate started her veterinary career in Arwyn Davies’s practice in Hay. Barney and Guy’s first jobs were in the nearby town of Kington. Hannah grew up on a local farm. Hay Veterinary Group is a busy practice which has expanded significantly over the last decade. In 2014 the practice migrated across town to a large purpose built base on Forest Road. A branch surgery in Talgarth opened in January 2017. Despite rapid evolution, the practice remains true to its roots as an independent, family run partnership. The partners employ a terrific team to allow them to combine running a busy practice with family life and looking after their growing menageries of cats, dogs, horses, ponies, chickens and more.
Hay Veterinary Group was established by Guy and Kate Platt and Hannah and Barney Sampson in January 2007. During that year the partners aquired and merged the two veterinary practices which had been long-established in Hay on Wye: Coles & Coles and J A O Davies MRCVS.
