Since its formation the practice has always worked on a wide variety of building types and for an equally wide range of clients. The Thames Valley is one of the most economically active areas of Britain, and we are currently working on industrial and office developments as well as housing, retail and community buildings. Reading is close to the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and much of our work is in historically sensitive locations where our skills allow us to produce imaginative and cost effective solutions complimenting their surroundings. The practice uses Graphisoft Archicad which is a powerful BIM based CAD package, but simple to use, producing clear and effective graphics in 2D and 3D. We work closely with all our clients to understand and realise their requirements and we endeavour to provide a proactive and innovative approach to every project. We also work closely with other professionals to ensure a co-ordinated and successful outcome to all of our projects.
Hives Architects LLP was originally formed in Reading in 1934 as Eric G.V.Hives and the practice has operated continuously in Reading since that time. Our new offices are in Georgian terrace opposite the Magistrates Courts.
