My name is Elaine Sturgess (Principal) and I am Australian. I graduated from ESO (European School of Osteopathy) in Kent in 1986, after a four year full- time course of study. I wrote my dissertation on the physiology of stress and how osteopathic treatment can help stress-related conditions. I have worked full time since then and I am also attending postgraduate courses to update my knowledge base. After travelling for 3 years through Asia and Europe, I returned to the UK. Settling down here I pursued my interest in complementary medicine and other related fields such as Therapeutic Massage (ITEC 1978), Alexander Technique, Applied Kinesiology, Yoga, Meditation and Tai Chi. I was privileged to work with Dr. Stoddard (world renowned osteopath) at his clinic for 3 years.
Holistic osteopathy is a hands-on therapy which is known for helping to alleviate the symptoms of all kinds of muscular and joint pain. The treatment involves treating the person as a whole and not just treating the part of the body that causes pain and dysfunction. In osteopathy we aim to find the cause of the problem rather than just treating the affected part.
