As a native English speaker, I generally only translate from Japanese into English, although I will take on small assignments requiring translation from English into Japanese. For larger English to Japanese projects I may be able to arrange translation by a qualified English to Japanese translator. I have a degree in Engineering from Cambridge University, specialising in electronics, and also have considerable experience in managerial, operational and strategic roles with blue-chip manufacturing organisations in Japan.
I specialise in technical translations, although I am very happy to consider non-technical assignments. I am particularly interested in patents, having received specialist training in Patent translation from 1993 to 1995 while working as the in-house Japanese-English translator with RWS Translations, the largest patent translation specialist in the world.
