Business Info

Krumbz Cafe

Krumbz was born in October 2004 when Debbie Chapman opened her original sandwich bar on The Parade in Marlborough. The shop quickly became a huge success, much-loved by its clientele who would travel from all over for their fix of Krumbz’s fabulous sandwiches, amazing salad boxes and, of course, their legendary cakes. The catering service soon followed, run out of the back of the shop, and this too proved an immediate success in the local area. Fast forward to Autumn 2012: realising that the sandwich bar and catering business had out-grown the shop, Debbie began to look for new premises. In January 2013 Krumbz re-opened 50 yards down the road in Kennet Place. The new spacious river-side location meant that Krumbz could become a proper café, with seating for 34 customers plus tables and chairs outside next to the river, and bigger kitchens providing much-needed space for the catering operation. Aided by Kim and Sophie, with further support from Julie, Ella, Suzy and Krumbz stalwart Fran (who retired from the business only to beg to come back part-time), Debbie’s philosophy is a simple one: “We work hard, we're open six days a week - and we serve up delicious fresh food that’s home-made from local produce. People seem to like that!”
