In 2013 she was made Clinical Academic Professor of Plastic Surgery for her contribution to research and development of educational programmes. She was formerly Chair of the SAC in Plastic Surgery responsible for training in plastic surgery at UK level and acted as Examiner for the Intercollegiate Fellowship in Plastic Surgery FRCS(Plast). She is currently Council member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Her contribution to the wider NHS has been acknowledged with a Silver Clinical Excellence Award.
