Helen qualified as a physiotherapist with a BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy from the University of Manchester in 2003. Since gaining general physiotherapy experience in a junior post for 2 years in a large teaching hospital in Manchester she has specialised in musculo-skeletal physiotherapy and worked as a Specialist Physiotherapist at Manchester Royal Infirmary and a successful private practice in Cheshire, before relocating to the New Forest. She is committed to keeping up to date with the most recent research and evidence of the best assessment and treatment techniques, and is currently studying towards an MSc in Manual Therapy. Helen has a Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine and is qualified in using Acupuncture to treat musculoskeletal pain. She is also trained as a Pilates instructor with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI).
Lymington Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic is run by local couple Helen and Matthew Ruane, from a purpose built premises at their home in Pennington, Lymington. We are Chartered Physiotherapists with a combined 17 years experience both in private practice and the NHS, and offer expert assessment and treatment for a wide range of muscular and joint problems including sports injuries, neck, back and joint pain.
