My furniture and household objects are made using mainly traditional methods and from solid native timbers, which I source locally wherever possible. My work is made from trees, and I try to keep that fact apparent in the finished piece. Burrs and knots in the wood are points of interest and really add to the individuality of each item. I work by myself, so sometimes there might be a bit of a delay between ordering and delivery, but hopefully the unique piece you get will be worth waiting for. Over the years I have been asked to make everything from church fonts to boot cupboards and most things in between. Unlike many things in the instant and throwaway society that we live in, my furniture is meant to last: although each piece is made for a specific person, it is intended that it lasts for many years and hopefully be passed from one generation to the next. I don’t make furniture using computerised machinery or computerised design packages: my furniture is designed and made starting with a piece of paper and a pencil, backed by quite a few years of practice…
