We specialise in developing, creating and implementing solutions to organisational problems based on the Theory of Constraints (TOC) methodology. This ability comes from a close relationship over nearly three decades with its inventor Dr Eliyahu M. Goldratt. We are well-known for our work in health and social care where we have created a whole-system TOC-based solution, which is explained in the business novel, Pride and Joy. However, this is just one area of our work. We use our TOC expertise to support organisations in such areas as project management, operations, supply chain, sales, strategy development and implementation, and leadership. Through our analysis capability we bring insight to our clients of the deep-rooted assumptions that are limiting their performance and show how this is playing out across the organisation. We show the size of the ramifications on the organisation’s performance and the size of the opportunity from a few key changes in operating practice. Each client holds different assumptions and so each is unique, which means in all cases our analysis starts from first causal principles. As well as helping our clients achieve unprecedented breakthroughs in performance we are committed to spreading our knowledge and insight about the Theory of Constraints. Our Masters degree in the Theory of Constraints (Health and Social Care Management) and our Masters in the Theory of Constraints (Consulting), both presented with Nottingham Business School, are the only masters degrees in the Theory of Constraints. Our commitment to the application of academic rigour to our work includes close working relationships with Exeter Business School and Lancaster University Management School. We also use the opportunities presented by conference platforms and varied communications media to share our knowledge, experiences and results.
