Our lives can get very tangled. We can find ourselves in uncomfortable, emotional places and ask, sometimes in great pain, how did I get here? Sometimes we need someone to get help from when things get too tangled and we can’t find our way out of the maze. Someone who help with the untangling. I draw on both contemporary Western and ancient Eastern psychological and philosophical theory. As a Transpersonal Psychotherapist I use Yoga philosophy and psychology as the main model, plus insights from Sufism, Buddhism and the Tao, to understand deeper aspects of ourselves from insights gained over thousands of years by countless, unnamed people whose only mission was to help humans understand and heal themselves. This viewpoint helps to create a stance from where we can begin to become the witness to our own behaviour and ourselves and draw on our strengths to help understand and heal inner distortions — to further the process of spiritual growth.
I am an Integrative Counsellor and Transpersonal Psychotherapist in private practice near Petersfield in North Hampshire. I work 1-2-1, long-term, with compassion and mindfulness focused therapy. While the details of peoples’ lives, and their problems, are many and varied, two common factors are shame and high levels of self-criticism. Healing the split between personality and soul is the aim of the game.
