I qualified in 1966 from Bristol University and am now in practise as Ronald Shirley Chartered Architects in Wotton-Under-Edge, Gloucestershire. In my Practise I advise and act for a number of National Clients, including Various Oil Supply Companies, Car Manufacturers and Brewers. I have a wide range of experience, including all types of commercial work, Warehousing/ Offices, Housing, Industrial Buildings, Farm Buildings and the conversion of many Listed Buildings. We also have been actively involved with the conversion of Thythe Barns, Mills and many other historic buildings. I have designed a Number of Farm Buildings, Equine related buildings, Including Equine Clinics, Veterinary Hospitals, Manager’s and Riding Facilities. I am an advisor to the Royal Racing Pigeon Association, RPRA and Homing World relating to keeping pigeons and in the interpretation of Planning Law where members are in dispute with Planning Authorities. Normally up to 12 Planning appeals are presented to the Planning Inspectorate at Bristol, covering from Housing Developments, to Industrial Buildings, and Haulage related activities.

I have been in practise for over 30 years and am a Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and also hold a degree of Bachelor of Architecture (Honours) awarded by Bristol University. I hold a Diploma in Architecture awarded by the same University. I am a Registered Planning Supervisor enabling me to advise on Health and safety matters / and the construction Design Management Regulations.
