Claire joined The Tiled Roofing Consultancy in June 2007 as a Roofing Consultant undertaking investigations of problems and failures related to slated and tiled roofs. Claire has taught many senior people within the roofing industry how to tile roofs during the five years that she was the workshop trainer in the Lafarge Roofing Training Centre. Claire also led more formal presentations in the theory of roofing and prepared many technical CPD presentations for use by the Lafarge sales force. Before working for Lafarge, Claire was a qualified Slater and Tiler for three years working mostly on the re-slating of domestic properties. She was the first female roofer to pass NVQ 3 Roofing Slating and Tiling and won medals every year at Skillbuild and the international roofing competition held in Luxemburg, and received a bronze award for construction student of the year.

For six years prior to joining the Tiled Roofing Consultancy, Claire was the most experienced Technical Advisor in the Technical Department of Lafarge Roofing, undertaking site investigations for customers, providing specialist advice on the installation of pitched roof coverings in difficult situations, Preparing CAD drawings, writing specifications, preparing schedules of quantities and undertaking fixing specifications for customers, as well as undertaking product trials for new products and sitting on specialist committees within the company.
