As a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor, the government body that governs the UK Driving Standards, tests all the instructors every 2 to 4 years to ensure we're delivering the highest teaching standard to our new drivers and ensure they go on to be safer, more conscientious and considerate drivers for life.

I have been teaching people to drive since 2000 and have been a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists since 1997. Throughout that time, I have taught over 1500 people to drive, people from all walks of life and with differing abilities. I have an exemplary local reputation and operate to the highest of professional standards.

Based in Gillingham, Dorset, Nigel Potter Driving School is able to offer driving lessons within a 15 mile radius, providing a choice of test centres including Yeovil, Salisbury and Dorchester. Nigel Potter Driving School is a well established business with over 20 years experience and has an enviable 75% pass rate. Nigel offers fully tailored lessons to each pupil and is able to give theory and hazard perception support in the car, via a laptop.

I have been a driving instructor for around 20 years. Having been made redundant, I wanted to try something completely different. I also wanted to be my own boss. Driving instruction for me, was the ideal occupation.
