The decision to revert to the old 9 holes has proved to be a good one. We have had many new members over the last couple of months, and we get enquiries regularly.

The clubhouse offers a warm and friendly atmosphere. The main function suite holds up to 120 and is available to hire for free to our members. The small lounge features a large flat screen TV with Sports channels, a pool table, table tennis, air hockey and dart board.

Ardeer Golf Club can boast quite a respectable degree of seniority amongst the golf clubs of Ayrshire, having been formed in 1880. Indeed only Prestwick, Prestwick St Nicholas and Troon are older than the club. The original course was 9 holes laid out on the links around the Sandyhills area of Stevenston. Although the course has since long gone, the original red sandstone clubhouse remains.

Cochrane Castle Golf Club located in the town of Johnstone, Strathclyde is a mature parkland 18-hole course of length 6194 yards (5664m). The course was designed by Charlie Hunter and was established in 1895. Set within the Craigston area of Cochrane Castle the elevated views from the course provide scenic aspects towards Ben Lomond to the North, the Campsies to the East.

Set in a seaside location, the neighbouring Gulf Stream ensures year round links golf, whilst the romantic peaks of Arran present a stunning backdrop to the landscape. It was over the links land of Scotland that the game of golf was born and still today the true links experience is unparalleled the world over.

Less than 30 minute drive from Glasgow city centre and 7 miles west of Glasgow Airport, Ranfurly Castle is easily accessible sitting on the edge of Bridge of Weir village. However, once you have played your approach to the second green and looked back over the Clyde valley, it’s the last you will see of Glasgow other than fleeting glimpses, for the next couple of hours as you enter the Renfrewshire countryside and enjoy one of the best moorland courses in Scotland.

Established in 1891, Largs Golf Club is situated to the south of Largs, North Ayrshire, enjoying spectacular views over the Clyde estuary and the neighbouring islands of Cumbrae, Bute, and Arran.

The opening of Annanhill golf course was marked by an exhibition foursome featuring two of Scotland’s greatest golfers, Eric Brown and John Panton. The Annanhill pro, John McLean and the Prestwick St Nicholas pro, Willie MacDonald made up the foursome and the match finished all square.

The West Kilbride Golf Club lies on a beautiful strip of links land and raised beach adjacent to the coastal village of Seamill, West Kilbride and is the most northerly of Ayrshire’s true links courses. With its magnificent views of Arran, Bute and Cowal it makes a wonderful venue for the game and a fine test of golf.
