Ellesmere Golf Club has undergone a number of re-developments since its official opening back in 1913. The current clubhouse was completely rebuilt in 1996 around the existing interior and now overlooks the picturesque 18th green.

Nestled in the heart of the stunning Cheshire Countryside, the beautiful parkland course of Leigh Golf Club really deserves its reputation as a true test of golfing ability. With well-defined fairways and tricky greens perfectly complemented by mature and newly planted trees, every hole is guaranteed to challenge and inspire you.

We are ideally situated for easy access, just a couple of miles from Bolton town centre and three minutes by car from Junction 6 of the M61. With our championship golf course, large practice ground and excellent short game area there is something to suit everyone from the seasoned veteran, to the aspiring young golfer in your family!

Hindley Park, the old hall and estate lands, were purchased for £1,300 in 1721 by Alexander Leigh, a powerful and prosperous man in the Borough of Wigan. He was a Barrister who was variously Town Solicitor, Clerk and Mayor.

Since it was founded in 1906, our course and club has undergone a variety of changes, culminating in what you see today: a beautiful golf course situated around a welcoming, comfortable clubhouse.
