Our system is a simple but effective one. Its roots come from traditional Wado Ryu & Shotokan Karate. Where TSM is unique is in the application of other styles and techniques which enhances what is already a good system and makes it more versatile.

Utilising all that is good in Martial Arts styles around today into Easy-To-Learn and Effective Systems. All our styles are modern and healthy, based on principles of sports science, Removing traditional lockouts, awkward stances & rigid movements.

Now in our 3rd decade of training in the Martial Arts of Japan, The Mid Sussex Martial Arts School (MSMAS), is probably now one of the oldest and most traditional mixed Martial Arts Centres in the UK today, know internationally as Tenshin Kan UK Dojo.

Senior Instructors Barry Lovett 5th Dan and Sarah Padget 4th Dan have over 50 years experience of teaching between them. We teach Wado Ryu Karate, an art which brings out the best in you. You learn karate at your own pace and you will benefit from increased confidence, fitness, skill levels and self defence. Children particularly benefit from all these aspects plus self discipline which helps in all parts of daily life.

In July 2015 Sensei Lindsey stepped down from running the club, handing the reins over to Garen Ewing, and at the start of 2016 we became part of the Shotokan Karate-do Kenkyujo under Sensei Dorian Fretwell (7th Dan), a senior graduate of Sensei Shiro Asano.

Fortitude Martial Arts Academy offers a variety of Taekwon-Do Training Programmes in Kent, Surrey & Sussex for all students from 3 years+ starting with our Ninjas, through to Dragons and Juniors and finally the Seniors class.

Ryusui-Ryu is a school of martial arts founded in July 2006 by Sensei Dave Waters. Sensei Waters has derived the school after many years of study in different martial arts including karate, aikido, Iaido, judo, kyudo and wing chun. It a subtle blend of traditional karate and aikido with contributions from other martial arts techniques amalgamated together to form one style. It is completely non-competitive with an emphasis on relaxed, flowing movements.
