Bujinkan Saffron Walden Mushinzui Dojo. Located in the quaint market town of Saffron Walden in Essex, just 16 miles south of Cambridge, and 13 miles north of Bishops Stortford, situated between Royston and Haverhill, the Bujinkan Saffron Walden Mushinzui Dojo teaches the martial art known as Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. This martial art consists of nine traditional Japanese lineages (aka ryu) taught under the heading of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu.

Dean Simpson, 3rd Dan and former England International, has helped many adults and children with confidence through disciplined training sessions; turning youngsters into world class champions such as Hannah Baker, European silver medalist and Akan Eka, European medalist.

Martial Arts is for everyone and you are never too old to start. At Laurence Sandum’s Black Belt Martial Arts Academy in Witham we teach students from 14+ years old, male and female, of all abilities. You do not need to have a good level of fitness to start training with us; we tailor our training around the individual.

New students should wear a t-shirt with tracksuit type trousers until they progress to a gi. Each week the students start the evening with exercises to improve physical fitness and also aerobic work to increase stamina. Training also includes learning to fall correctly/break falls essential for students as they progress through their syllabus work.
