The art of Aikido was founded by a Japanese master named Morihei Ueshiba, who was already highly skilled in a large number of traditional martial arts. His art came to incorporate both armed and empty handed techniques and it wasn't long before it attracted a large number of skilled students.

This is the Waterside Taekwondo Club website where you will find all the information about our classes plus the different locations that we teach across the New Forest & Southampton. Our classes range from the age of 4 to Adults plus we have a mixture of Traditional, Sports Sparring, Competition Training, Ladies only, Tigers and Get Fit for Adults.

The TaeKwonDo Academy is a Martial Arts & Self Defence School with clubs in Hampshire, covering Petersfield, Southsea & Paulsgrove. Chief Instructors Travis Bottriell (Master V Dan) & Samantha-Jo Jenkins (Senior Instructor III Dan) have over nearly 25 years martial arts training behind each of them running successful martial arts & self defence classes for adults & children in Hampshire.

Situated in Andover, Hampshire, Test Valley Aikido is a small club with both male and female instructors that prides itself on its friendly atmosphere - see our bio page for details on our instructors. Students aged 19+ of any martial arts experience and physical condition are welcome.

5th Degree International Instructor Stephen Lamberth has over 30 years experience in Tae Kwon-Do and boasts numerous national and international competition achievements. He is fully DBS checked, First Aid qualified and works in conjunction with local schools doing stranger danger awareness courses etc. He also runs several school classes in Dorset & Hampshire. Venues include Ringwood, Fordingbridge, Ferndown, Verwood, West Moors and Cranborne.

Taekwon-Do (TKD) is a dynamic Korean martial art that combines hand and foot techniques and provides the practitioner with an effective method of self defence. Training provides a total body workout which will improve cardiovascular fitness, strength and flexibility. Swift Fox TKD teaches a traditional ITF syllabus and as such, training is built around the five tenets: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit.

Karate, a Japanese developed martial art, which simply means ‘empty hand’, is much more than the art of self defence. The practice of karate develops self confidence, self discipline, a sense of respect for self and others and is an excellent developer of character. The physical exercises and regular training develops body stamina and strength and helps to maintain good health. Karate is suitable for most people and at Portchester our members range from 6 to 80.

Nihon Goju Ryu Karate Do is a Bubishi linage school, founded by Tanigawa Takeshi Sensei 9th Dan and is his understanding following many years of study at the Senbukan dojo in Kawasaki, Japan, under Izumikawa Kanki Sensei. Its full name is Tanigawa Ha Inyo Karate Do, this style of Karate is not a sport but is a traditional Martial Art. The Bubishi is considered to be the bible of Karate. Ninbukan is connected to the Bubishi Kenkyu Kai which is a study association dedicated to the teachings of the Bubishi.

We offer martial arts and self-defence classes to everybody (aged 5 and above) of all abilities in Eastleigh at our training facility located at The Ageas Bowl, West End, Southampton. Derek & Karen are 4th Degree Black Belts in CKD, teaching and running CKD schools in Hampshire as a full-time profession since 2004. In addition, as one of only a handful of CKD instructors around the world, Derek holds a diploma level ‘Advanced Chief Instructor’ certification. This ensures the very highest standards of instruction, throughout all our classes and the associated Hampshire CKD schools.
