A not-for-profit, fully constituted club established in 1995, with instructors giving their time for free. Proceeds benefit members by providing free or subsidised entry into competitions and courses, free travel to events, and International sponsorship. Our senior instructor is the most highly ranked ITF instructor on Merseyside and has trained under the Founder, General Choi Hong Hi.

Let's take a closer look at the meaning of the word "Tae" "Kwon" "Do." It is composed of three parts as shown in the English spelling, though it is one word in Korean. "Tae" means "foot," "leg," or "to step on"; "Kwon" means "fist," or "fight"; and "Do" means the "way" or "discipline." If we put these three parts together, we can see two important concepts behind "Tae Kwon Do".

Arroyo Martial Arts Academy was founded by me, Julio Cesar Castro Carmenate, to provide Martial Arts training and fitness instruction in a high quality Martial Arts Academy. I am Black Belt 6th Dan in Shotokan Ryu and Kairon Ryu. I also have a Black Belt 3rd Dan in Japanese Jujitsu and I am Kru in Muay Thai.

Malvern Karate Club is a Shotokan based Karate Club with various locations within the Halewood, West Derby, Dovecot and Walton areas. We are associated to the Karate Union of Great Britain (KUGB), the largest single style organisation established by Sensei Enoeda in 1966.
