I have been a wedding photographer for over 30 years and during that time have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in wedding photography. I use my experience to capture those once in a lifetime moments and create natural and relaxed, yet stunning wedding photographs that will remain with you always.

I must have been 7 or 8 when my father first gave me a camera - a Kodak Instamatic! I was hooked from that moment. As life went on, so my cameras became more advanced and sophisticated.

I first fell in love with photography on my 7th birthday when I was given a Polaroid camera. Later on that evening at a Cantonese Restaurant I photographed the other diners and gave them the option to purchase the image to remember their special evening by! I earned myself quite a bit of pocket money that night but worth more than that was the discovery of photography. Since that time I have gained various photography and art qualifications and experience through previous work in marketing and web design. This background has all served to shape me into the photographer I am today.

Hello, I’m Phil and I am a Devon man born and bred. I came back home to marry and start a family and I now live very happily by the sea with my wife and two rascals. As a younger man I worked in London for ten years after graduating.

Nova Wedding Photography is me (Katherine) and my husband Steve. We have been fortunate enough to photograph beautiful weddings across Devon, Somerset and Cornwall for the past seven years. We’d describe our style as documentary - uncontrived, unobtrusive and creative, 'story-telling' photography. We want our images to tell the genuine story of your wedding day as it really happens.

After studying for a BA ( Hons ) in Photography at Derby College I assisted well known London photographers Graham Miller and celebrity portrait photographer Cornel Lucas before setting up my own studio with a grant from the Princes Youth Business Trust.

I have 25 years experience behind the lens; from the world of advertising and editorial photography through to big budget film sets for companies such as Paramount and Working Title. I’ve been published extensively online & in print including Vogue, Brides Magazine, Love My Dress & Rock My Wedding.
