I’m Dr. Sonya Leggett, BSc(Hons),PhD, BVetMed, VetMFHom, MRCVS — a holistic veterinary surgeon. In 20 years of working with domestic pets, horses and farm animals, I’ve used homeopathy, acupuncture, nutritional advice and, where appropriate, allopathic medicine.

Goughs has been established for 61 years. For the last 33 years it has been run by Roger, Pat and Beki. As a small family business we try to offer a friendly, knowledgable service to all our customers.

High street pets is a family petshop located in Horley. We sell a variaty of stock such as dog & cat food, accessories, beds, leads etc. We also sell frozen snake food and live reptile food.

Although independent, you will find us very competitive when you compare our prices with the pet superstores, supermarkets and garden centres! We believe in old fashioned values such as personal service from trained staff, but we also understand a modern approach to pet care, and we are here in your town centre..why travel when we have everything right here.

Starting small, firstly in the cellar of their High Street cottage in Hurstpierpoint, then taking over the front room as well, the business grew rapidly, necessitating the move to retail premises in the adjoining village of Ditchling in 1986. In 2009, the business expanded again, taking over the magnificent victorian Goods Shed adjacent to Hassocks Station. This gave the business more room for display, allowed the expansion of goods stocked, expanding into feed and bedding and an having an extensive private car park. Daughters Holly and Laura also joined, making it truly a family business.
