Welcome to W. J. French & Son, the oldest and largest independent shoe shop in Hampshire. W J French & Son is an independent, family run business, which has been trading in Southampton since 1803 and is now in the hands of the eighth generation of the French family. We sell Ladies, men's and children's shoes and have an onsite shoe repair workshop.

All Clothing & Protection have been delivering the goods since 2003. We stock and supply a vast range of apparel and equipment for major industry sectors in the UK, with a particular emphasis on manned guarding / security personnel, arborist and forestry specialisation, railways and infrastructure and marine & shipping.

We first began selling shoes as a family business three generations ago. The first shop was in Cosham and opened in 1910. In 1977 we opened a Second shop in Kingston Road, Portsmouth.
