Hello I'm Lucy and I own This or Die. I graduated in Fashion and Textiles design in 2000, going on to work as a High St fashion buyer and merchandiser, and later as a footwear designer.

Generations of my ancestors have been involved in making and repairing shoes. In the late 1920s, my Father opened his shop in Nairobi employing 68 shoemakers throughout the shop's history. The shop became known as one of the finest shoemakers in East Africa and was visited by Hollywood movie stars while they were filming in the area.

In its heyday, Woodhall Spa was a well known inland resort, and people travelled long distances by train to sample the Spa waters with their special properties. When Woodhall Spa had its own railway station, the shop was a booking office and was the last building on the platform before the railway line diagonally dissected the Broadway.

Patrick Shoes was started in 1972 and operated from an old church building in Towcester. It is now run by the sons of the founder from a purpose built warehouse in Daventry.
